What a busy and eventful March and April for the Chamber. There were great turnouts at all three of our Ribbon Cuttings. Starting with Le Boucherie, followed by Prudential Reality and Sue Unger’s Team and ending with Fusion Fitness’s celebration. Such excitement for these new businesses brings an added dimension to Escalon. The customer appreciation Barbecue held on the street in front of Cromwell and Ney had a steady stream of attendees dressed in support of their favorite teams. Thanks to all who supported these events.
A very successful Night with the Starts, the Wine Stroll, capped off the month. Our guests strolled Main Street while tasting wine from 11 local wineries, nibbling the tasty treats supplied by local business, enjoying the subtle varieties of olive oil and finishing off with several choices of dessert. The band was extraordinary and furnished the right amount of ambiance. Guests lined up to take a turn at trying to open the Treasure chest which held over $4000 in prizes. A portion the night’s profits will go to support our first annual continuing education scholarship to be awarded in the fall. We are currently looking for 3 or 4 individuals to form the scholarship committee.
With the Wine Stroll behind us we are beginning to plan for a chalk art contest to be held July 13th from 1 – 4 in conjunction with Park Fete. Still in the early stages, it looks like we will have two levels of competition; one for youngsters and one for adults. As always we love ideas and people willing to work on this event.
Coming soon to our area, watch for the Highway 120 Adventure.
