Happy 2014 and here we come! Last year brought new businesses into Escalon and it looks like we have more to come this year. January brings with it a time of new beginnings and renewal and of course that means it is time to renew or begin your membership with the Escalon Chamber of Commerce. I am often asked just what can the Chamber do for me. I find that a very thought provoking question as to me the power of networking is what it is all about. When I know what you do in your place of business then I can support you and tell others about you, and when you know what I do… In her book Networking on Purpose, Beth Bridges, the Networking Motivator, states “Your network is leverage. It gives you access to resources. It saves you time in finding solutions. It provides you with knowledge and ideas. A network helps you build a foundation for future success.” That is what a Chamber can do for you. Consider joining today and we can begin to build a stronger network.
What can you look forward to in 2014? The return of Second Sunday in the Park will start up again in February, the Wine Stroll the last Friday in April, the Chalk Art Contest in July during Park Fete, and Christmas on Main in December. The Scholarship team has been formed, and our first scholarships will be awarded this Fall. Be looking for regularly scheduled coffees, mixers and Ribbon Cuttings as we have a team working on those as well. We look forward to promoting business of the month as well as featured business on the website.
The 120 Adventure Facebook page is up and full of information on places to visit and stop between Manteca and Yosemite. Escalon is a perfect stop for visitors heading to or home from a weekend in the Mother Lode. Recently while on Main Street, I saw several people wandering around the caboose, strolling Main Street and then heading to the tables for a meal. Merchants open over the weekend have seen an upswing in business. A website for the Adventure will be up soon.
Wishing you a prosperous 2014 and as always, Think Escalon First
