The first weekend in May was quite busy for the Chamber and music filled Main Street. On Friday night we held our rescheduled Wine Stroll. With a disco theme we were entertained all evening with music from that era provided by Elite Entertainment. Our guests were treated to an art show, classic cars, and two opportunities to win donated prizes, great food and of course delightful wines. We appreciate all of the volunteers that came together to help make this a special evening and especially to Annie Gallagher our Team leader.
That Sunday in the Park featured flowers, donated by P & L, planting for the kids, a coloring contest, and live music from Rich Olds, free hot dogs donated by Big Boy Market and barbecued by your Chamber.
In case you haven’t noticed the five barbecues are back in place and ready for summer dining el fresco. Our Second Sunday in the Park is a family friendly event and each month has a different theme and is supported by local businesses. This month we had visitors there from Oakdale and Ripon as well as Escalonians of all ages. Team Leader of these events is Will Hecht.
We are excited that our web designer Lucretia Ranere was chosen to design The 120 Adventure website as well. That site will be available in the next 45 days. It is guaranteed to be user friendly and help the visitor to find things to do between Manteca and Lee Vining. It will feature lots of pictures of our various communities and of course places to see and shop here in Escalon. If you have some great pictures of activities here in town, we would love to see them and possibly share them.
There are lots of activities in the works and we encourage checking the website for listing of upcoming events. The Chamber will host another Sidewalk Art Contest on the Saturday of Park Fete, July 12 immediately following the Power House performances. Applications and details will be posted.
If you haven’t done so already, please like the Chamber on Facebook to get information on local activities several times a week. As we travel into summer as always, Think Escalon First.
