Summer is Upon Us!

Schools are out and travel season begins.  Many of us can remember when summer weekends meant stop and go traffic slowing down most cross-town activities.  The advent of the stoplight is definitely an improvement, although trains can recreate said conditions.  With that being said it is with excitement that we see The Highway 120 Adventure website has come into being, thank you to web designer Lu Ranere.  We are featured along with four other cities between Manteca and Lee Vining.  Each site has a drop down menu for pictures and activities in town.  Under the where to shop, you will find a listing of our Chamber members.  Is your name listed?  The site also lists local activities.  Be sure to check it out and if you haven’t already done so, and like the Facebook page for regular updates in all of the locations.  We welcome travelers to Escalon and invite them to Shop Local.

Congratulations to all of our local graduates as you transition into new schools and activities.  We are looking forward to our association with Center for Professional & Continuing Education, UOP and will be offering first come first serve scholarships to our members to participate in workshops and classes to in continuing education.  More information will be posted on our website when the new Fall catalog is provided.   

Sunday in the Park on Sunday June 22, will offer rides in an authentic London taxi which is perfect to go along with the Around the World Theme.  This is a fun family event which also brings shoppers to downtown Main Street.  Don’t forget the Lion’s Club Cruise events at Hula’s every Friday evening.  

 On July 12th the Chamber is conducting the Second Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest right after the Powerhouse Dancers Perform on stage.  Registration forms can be picked up prior to the event at our nook at 1830 Main Street or on our website.  Day of Registration will be between 12:30 and 1 in front of 1830 Main.  Contest will run from 1–2 and winners announced from the stage at 2:30.  Prizes for three categories - Ages   3–6, 7 – 13 and 14 +
