The Good Life in a Small Town

What is it that is so special about living in a small town?  Is it walking into a business or a bank and they know you by your first name?  Is it the support given to the service clubs who in turn give thousands of dollars in scholarships to graduating seniors each year?  Is it a Main Street that closes down so the Homecoming parade has safe passage?  Is it the twinkle lights that go up on the Main Street trees to decorate the Holiday Season?  Is it having the community turn out in droves for sporting events?

I say it is all of the above!  We would love to have you go to the Chamber Facebook page and tells us what you like best about small town living.  Share a photo on our page and let the online world know how great Escalon life is!

The Chamber has begun gearing up for several activities to take place before the end of the year.  We will be offering spaces at $10.00 in the Main Street Park for vendors and yard sale folks who live too far out of town to be a part of the Citywide Yard Sale on October 4th.  For more information check our Facebook page or our website where you can pre-purchase spaces for the event.

October 12th, from 11 – 3, will be the last Sunday in the Park for the Season.  This is a fun event with pumpkin carving, pumpkin decorating and homemade costume decorating contests.  Last year’s participants had a great time.  Also included will be live music and various vendors.

Last, but not least, plans are already in the works for Christmas on Main which will be held on December 13th this year.  More details in the coming months.

If you haven’t already joined or rejoined the Chamber for 2014 please put it at the top of your to do list!  Anyone joining from now until the end of the year will be paid through the end of 2015.  We appreciate each of you and the contribution you make to our community.  Working together we can maintain the activities we have now and with additional members we can begin to expand our activities to items on our goals list.   To make it easier and more convenient, you can now join or renew your Chamber membership on our website by clicking here

Thank you for your support and as always, Think Escalon First.
