Ready for an evening under the stars?

Wasn’t school just out!  Back to School activities are already taking place and your Chamber is planning for Fall activities, but first we are holding a first time ever event on August 22nd at 6:30 PM.  We are very excited to be holding a Farm to Fork event at Grandpa’s Barn - 17693 Enterprise Road just a little outside of town.  Tickets are $40.00 and include appetizers, dinner and non alcoholic refreshments.  Wine and Beer Available by the glass.  The menu will include fruits and vegetables from local farms and old fashioned barrel cooked tri tip and chicken.  It will be an evening under the stars with seating in the beautiful orchard.  This is planned to become an annual event and fund raiser for the chamber.  Tickets are available online at lorinasediblegarden.net.  Lorina grew up in Escalon as have her daughters.  She has been very active in FFA and supports the Chamber as our Board Vice President.  Please join us for this fun evening.

Your Chamber was quite active in Park Fete this year hosting the Children’s Corral and the Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest.  Member Services Chair Devorie Voral is the Miss Escalon Contest Pageant coordinator and puts on a great event during Park Fete.  We are also looking forward to working with the new Miss Escalon Court.  For you not in the know folk, the girls help us with Ribbon Cuttings, Sundays in the Park, Christmas on Main and other year round activities.  We start planning for Christmas early next month and encourage new participants for the several committees that make this event happen.  We have one more Sunday in the Park which will be our third Harvest celebration featuring pumpkin carving, decorating and a homemade costume contest.

We are still anticipating our first scholarship application to attend either Delta or UOP for continuing education courses.  The application is at our website and is for current members and their employees.  It is first come first served and a great way to add to your employment skills. We can never have too much education.

Although we are still a small Chamber, and many of the activities we would like to hold are not on the calendar yet, we are ready to grow and continue to add one activity per year.  With more members getting involved, we can do more.  So, as always THINK ESCALON FIRST and join the fun and rewards of Chamber membership.
