Another wine stroll is in the books and what an evening it was. The weather was gorgeous; the vendors and wineries, the best ever; the entertainment super; the crowd beyond our expectations and we ran out of glasses, oh my. You have to love the attendees who made the best of this lack and went on in to enjoy the event. Our scholarships will have an extra boost and the committee will plan better for next year. I want to thank all of the team who put in the extra effort to advertise and promote our wine stroll and to our fabulous sponsors who made everything happen.
School is out and the weather will heat up so it will be a perfect time to take advantage out our city parks and pool. Don’t forget there are five barbecues that can be used in the Main Street park which were donated by local service clubs. On Friday nights the pre-cruise events sponsored by the Lions Club take place at Hula’s. Park Fete is scheduled for the week of July 10 - 16. Several Chamber members are working on the planning team. Once again this year we will be sponsoring the Children’s Corral at the entrance to the Park. The Chalk Art Contest will be held inside the Corral and can be worked on during both days. Also planned will be stick horse races plus the usual kids activities.
We want to recognize Doc Tom Hagan as he celebrates his 100th birthday this month. A true believer in Escalon and all we stand for.
As Always, Think Escalon First!
