I enjoy this time of year when the weather cools down and activities warm up. Our first Christmas on Main meeting is in the books with new members on the team and lots of excitement for this traditional event. The date is a week earlier this year, December 2, 2017, as we plan around the High School’s Winter Formal. The lighting of the Hospice Tree is November 28th. Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss them. More details to follow and information will be published on our Website and on Facebook.
There are at least two businesses opening up in the next month which is always exciting. We are all sad to see the ending of Leonard’s with many of us visiting to say our thanks and good bye to Mike and staff. The good news is that work is already going on inside by the new managers of the space. Tiffany’s will be opening up in September. Many of our favorites will be available, but lots of new items will be on the menu as well. No details at the present time other than a sign saying we will have a new coffee shop opening soon across from Rite Aid.
The City Wide Yard Sale is October 7th and the Chamber will once again be selling spaces in the Park for those of you who want to be in town. The Fourth Annual Harvest Sunday in the Park is on the 8th. More information will be posted next month.
Ambassadors Jackie Roche and Steph Ennis are already visiting businesses and setting up Ribbon Cuttings and mixers. These volunteers are long time members of the community and are eager to bring new ideas and help to implement some long time items on the Chamber’s bucket list.
As Always, THINK ESCALON FIRST!
