The Chamber is proud to announce that we will be opening an office space by Sept. 15, 2012.  StorKwik has generously offered the use of an upstairs office space free of charge.  Several years ago the Board made the decision that to be good stewards of our finances we needed to close our physical office location.  Opening an office now is perfect as we begin to grow our Think Escalon First campaign.   Chamber office hours will soon be posted on the web site.   We will rely on Volunteers to keep our Chamber office running. Anyone interested in joining the chamber board and volunteering a few hours a week, please call Pat Brown at 209-988-0582. It will however be a place to showcase businesses and activities and will give home-based businesses a place to meet potential customers.  I see lots of potential for the merchants of Escalon.

Fund raising is always an important part of nonprofits activities and we have just completed the third Annual Golf Tournament at our local Escalon golf course.  It was a fun day and many thanks go out to our merchant community who sponsored holes, raffle prizes, outstanding food and especially golfers.  Once again the Miss Escalon Court helped in the fundraising with several different activities.  Monies from the event go to our scholarship for Continuing Education for adults working in Escalon.  Our goal is to offer the first scholarship sometime in 2013.

Finally, we are in the beginning stages of compiling a member directory. Target date for delivery will be the end of February 2013.  Information will be available soon on how you can be listed in the directory.  We are looking for ideas for feature articles to be included, so if you have an idea please email us at with your idea.
