We're Halfway Through The Year

I don’t know about you, but I believe this year has just flown by.  Here we are staring the last half of the year working on Park Fete activities (if you want to participate in the parade, click here for the Park Fete Parade Entry Form), two more Sundays in the Park, The Wine and Spirits Stroll, and looking forward to Christmas on Main activities to start up early September.  We have completed our scholarship event Tea and Trumpets and awarded two more scholarships of $400 to support students in Art and Music, as well as held two successful Sundays in the Park. 


You might wonder how this happens with only volunteers and no office space. The answer is simply that we love this community and work to make it a better place for all who live here and do business here.  The addition of an active Ambassador who is contacting businesses, attending City Council meetings and talking up the chamber wherever she goes has made a world of difference.  Thank you Steph Ennis. 

Be sure to check out the Kid’s Corral at Park Fete.  All the games and activities are free.  Before the parade kids can participate in stick horse races while inside the Chamber Booth, the Chalk Art Contest is being held.  Winners of both events will earn prizes.

Save the Date July 26th at 6:00pm in the Library for a workshop called NAVIGATING THE DIGITAL MARKETING MARKET.  Cow and Rooster Design’s Elizabeth Hahn will help business owners decide which social and advertising choices are best for their business.

How many of you have attended the Farmer’s Market?  Each week it has grown with new merchants and Tom and Andrea Mccoy are working very hard to make this a success.  For years people have wished we had a local market and now we need to support it weekly.

The Wine and Spirits Stroll has a dedicated team of volunteers each taking their share of the work.  While we have no actual vendors for this event, different spirits and food sampling will be partnered.   Tickets will be available starting the first week in August.  Cost is $25 up to 4:00 on the day of the event and can be purchased online.  After 4:00 the prices rise to $30.00.
